The 2016-17 season is the fourth for the Gulf Coast Monarchs, Florida’s first team associated with the Michigan-based Monarchs organization founded in 2000 by Jim Desana. Combined, last season’s 8U, 9U and 10U teams amassed a 116-48-4 record, winning the first place trophy in 13 tournaments, including the 10U Perfect Game Super 25 National Championship. This season’s 10U squad returned to the same ballpark and also captured the title, giving the Monarchs back-to-back national championships.
Now competing at the 10U and 11U levels, Monarchs players represent all of Southwest Florida: Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers, Immokalee, Labelle, Lehigh Acres and Naples. Our goal is to combine children’s raw abilities with proper baseball fundamentals, allowing them to develop their skills the right way. We aim to create an environment that promotes hard work, steady improvement and sportsmanship.
The Monarchs compete in tournaments across Florida, predominantly south of the I-4 corridor, but also have played this season in Georgia and Michigan.
